SHOULD THE CHURCH CHANGE WITH THE TIMES?
Past/Future Articles

Some people think the church should change because society has changed.  Some think mechanical instruments used in worship service would increase attendance, while others want to leave the basics in which the church was established and return to many of the denominational doctrines that divided the church over a century ago.

Christians accept God’s word that the plans of the church were laid out by God before the world began (II Tim. 5:9); carried out by Jesus Christ, his son, and established on the day of Pentecost by the apostles (Acts 2).  God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8).  What He commanded two thousand years ago, He commands today, what He forbade then, He forbids today.  Instead of man changing the church to suit himself, he must change himself to accept and obey God’s word.

The Holy Spirit, through the apostle Paul warns against this in II Tim. 4:3, 4 and to those who would change the church he also warns them of the danger of doing so in II Thessalonians 1: 8, 9.
