"Who Will You Choose To Follow?"

We are living in a time when most of society are saying “yes” to things that they should say “no” to and “no” to things they should say “yes” to.  It is no surprise that our young people seem confused.  Our adults are confused, so naturally our youth who follow them are going to be just as confused.  It goes without saying that every individual is prone to follow someone or something.  The one a person chooses to follow will, in all likelihood, determine the kind of mortal he/she will become.  All too often we put human beings on a pedestal, only to be fooled by some misdeed that they have done or alleged to have done.  Therefore, we should choose carefully those we seek to follow.
When Christ saw Peter and Andrew, He told them to “follow me and I will make you fishers of men,” (Matt. 4:19, Mark 1:17).  What Christ was asking these two brothers to do may have seemed strange to them and, from all indications, fishing was their livelihood;  and yet, the Bible says: “and straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him” (Mark 1:18).  When we look at giving up a “net and a boat” we may think this was not much to give up, although in those days it may have been considered a lot...but they gave up everything to follow Christ!  How much would we give up to follow Christ, the Savior of the world?
