Many businesses have what they call alternative prices.  This is when an item has a price that may be altered by using other than the standard service or product.  For example, the purchase of an automobile.  The price may be altered by adding certain luxury items or leaving them off.  So we see one has the liberty to make the cost whatever he may choose.  I fear many in the religious realm feel they have the same freedom to add and subtract as they try and create a religion to fit their lifestyle.  Do we have this liberty or right to alter God's word?

God has given man the power of choice in many of life's elements.  However in the realm of spiritual matters we must abide by what God has said.  The only choice we have is to either accept or reject it.  If we reject it, we know the cost.  If we accept it, we must abide by the laws laid down therein.  We are told early on in Jeremiah 23:28-31 that God is against those who steal His words.  We are given many examples in God's word of the destruction of men who misused it.  Leviticus 10:1-2 tells us of the death of Aaron's two sons for offering strange fire or fire that God has not commanded.  In II Samuel 6:6-7, we learn that God struck Uzzah dead for putting his hand to the ark when God had forbidden it to be touched.  Moses was not allowed to go into the promised land because of disobedience.  Psalms 119:104 tells us God hates every false way.

So we see there is not an alternative religion that will get us to heaven.  There is only one way and that is Jesus Christ.  His way is strait and narrow (Matthew 7:13-14).  Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the light and no one comes to the Father, but by me."  (John 14:6)  So we must decide which way we want to travel - broad with the world or strait with Christ - if we want to go to heaven.  No, dear friends, there is no alternative way in religion.  If we try and bend God's word to fit our lifestyle, we will be the one to break, not the word.  We will truly pay the price with the destruction of our soul in an eternal hell that will burn forever.  We will have an eternity to think about what we did WRONG!!!
