THINK ON THESE THINGS |
![]() |
Often times, as we go about our lives from day to day, its easy to allow our thoughts and mind to be caught up in the cares and pleasures of the world around us. Temptations and allurements seem to be at every turn and corner as Satan uses every avenue available to him to draw our thoughts and minds away from God and his ways, and toward the brief pleasures that sin has to offer. In Philippians 4;8, Paul taught the Philippian brethren to seek peace by meditating on Spiritual things, when he said, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”Those who continually think on evil, destroy all hope of peace. In his sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” In his letter to the church at Colosse, Paul said, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affections on things above, and not on things of the earth.” Col. 3:1-2. Therefore, may we ever strive to keep our thoughts and meditations pure and free from evil. It was Paul who said, “For to be carnally minded (the mind of the flesh) is death, but to be spiritually minded (the mind of the Spirit) is life and peace.” Rom. 8:6.
