YOU’RE BEING WATCHED

Past/Future Articles

The above phrase has been the subject of much of controversy during the past few years.  It stems from the growing concern in America over such things as “wire tapping,” “bugging,” and “surveillance.”  Some see things as threats to our freedom; while others see them as deterrents to crime.

Regardless of our views toward these practices, as Christians, we should remember that we are always being watched.  I do not mean by so-called investigators, but by our Father which is in heaven.  Sometimes Christians conduct themselves as if their actions were known only to them.  The Bible makes it clear that no man is ever alone.

The Psalmist declared:  “The Lord looked from heaven, He beholdeth all the sons of men.  From the place of His habitation He looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth” (Psa. 33:13, 14).  The wise man said, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Prov. 15:3).  God also knows every word that we say (Psa. 139:7), as well as our location every minute of our lives. (Read Psalm 139).

We should, therefore, remember that wherever we are, or whatever we are doing or saying, neither darkness nor walls can hide us from Jehovah’s view and hearing.  This should be an incentive for all of us to be more Christ-like in our every thought and action.

Don’t forget, you’re being watched.  j.j. turner
