The “OLD” Law And The “NEW” Part II |
![]() |
(Continued from 1/9/00) The purpose of the cross was to confirm the New Testament by the blood of Jesus Christ (Heb. 9:7-17). Telling us all of the old law had been fulfilled, Christ said “I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill (Matt. 5:17). He fulfilled the law, did all that was required, and then from the cross He said, “It is finished” (John 19:30), therefore completing ALL of the old law.Everyone is subject to CHRIST today, for He said “I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father but by me” (John 14:6). His will, law, or testament is sealed with his own blood (Heb. 9: 12-14) and his will went into effect after his death on the cross (Heb. 9:15-17). We are now under the “New Testament’ (Heb. 8:13; 9:15; 10:9, 10). Paul said if we go back to keep any of the old law then we are “severed from Christ” and are “fallen away from grace” (Gal. 5:4). Moses and Elijah’s work ended. We are now to hear Jesus (Matt. 17:5).
